Marty was named as CEO of Hilco Recovery Strategies in 2009. He had been with another Hilco business unit. Well-known in the commercial finance field, Marty has more than 25 years of extensive experience in all facets of commercial finance as well as in second lien and distressed lending. From 2001 until he joined Hilco in 2008, Marty was a key member of the Commercial Finance Lending Unit of LaSalle Bank (now Bank of America). He oversaw and managed various specialty lending groups across LaSalle’s international platform.
In 1989, Marty started the first asset-based lending operation in Canada. He was also extensively involved in LaSalle’s Retail Finance lending unit. Prior thereto, Marty successfully created and managed the commercial finance group of PPM Finance, Inc. in Chicago. PPM provided first and second lien financings between $20 million and $300 million.
Marty received a bachelor’s degree and MBA from DePaul University. He is an active director and executive committee member of the Commercial Finance Association.
