Hilco Acquires UK Retailer, Habitat
 
Hilco UK, the London-based unit of Hilco Trading, LLC, has acquired Habitat, a UK-based international home furnishing retailer.  Habitat has retail operations in the UK (35 stores), France (26 stores), Spain (5 stores), Monaco (1 store) and Germany (5 stores). In addition, there is a large distribution network of retail partners.  Through these partnerships, the Group’s products are distributed in various different markets, including Belgium, Denmark, Dubai, Greece, Iceland, the Isle of Man, Luxembourg, Norway, Portugal, Russia, Sweden and Turkey.

Habitat’s product range includes upholstery, furniture, textiles, lighting and tableware. The Group’s headquarters are based in London, and the Group has warehouses in Wallingford, UK and Cergy, France. The French warehouse serves the store network in Continental Europe, whereas the UK warehouse only serves UK network. The Group currently employs over 1,500 staff.
